After severe criticism, WhatsApp has postponed its new privacy policy. WhatsApp has delayed its new update for next three months, at least. In an official blog post, WhatsApp has informed users that no one’s account will be deleted on February 8th.

”No one will have their account suspended or deleted on February 8. We’re also going to do a lot more to clear up the misinformation around how privacy and security works on WhatsApp. We’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15” said WhatsApp.

”We have heard from so many people how much confusion there is around our recent update. There’s been a lot of misinformation causing concern and we want to help everyone understand our principles and facts” said WhatsApp in the blog post.Ever since WhatsApp announced its revised policy, the company faced severe criticism. Most of the WhatsApp users migrated to Signal and Telegram messaging Apps. In last 10 days, Signal and Telegram have seen massive surge of downloads and installs. Hence, WhatsApp has now delayed its privacy policy update.
